10 Years On The Island

It’s July 2025 and I’m celebrating / reflecting on my life here in Hobart since moving 10 years ago from my home town in Victoria. The change has been drastic, to say the least. I’m now married to a wonderful and loving wife, have two beautiful boys, a cat, three chickens and a budgie.

When I left the mainland, I left a lot more than my home. I left my family, my friends and familiarity. I left a life of travel and stardom. I left working relationships that had been fostered for over a decade. Collectively and painfully, I realise now that the hardest part about all of this, is that I left the sense that I belong. Moving to a new city is a tricky thing and honestly, I wasn’t prepared for it.

Without the support of my family and new friends, I would never have “made it”. Made it, in the sense that I had to pursue doing what I love. I had to, at all costs, pursue my passion and drive for making images. As I slowly began to gain trust and form new relationships here in Hobart, I’ve had the absolute pleasure of working with so many amazing, creative and talented people on projects that I am truly proud to share.

Thank you to everyone who has been a part of this journey so far, I will be forever grateful 🙂
